New England, NSW—New England Hydraulics and Diesel is seeking an experienced Fitter Machinist to join our skilled team in our Armidale, NSW workshop. This full-time role will involve repairing and maintaining hydraulic and diesel equipment for our diverse range of commercial and industrial clients.
What you’ll be doing
- Diagnosing, repairing and overhauling hydraulic systems and components
- Operating a range of machine tools such as lathes, milling machines and grinders to manufacture or modify parts
- Conducting routine maintenance and servicing on equipment
- Working closely with hydraulic specialists and technicians to prioritise and complete jobs efficiently
- Ensuring all work is carried out to a high standard and in compliance with safety regulations
What we’re looking for
- Relevant trade qualifications and several years’ experience as a Fitter Machinist
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Proficient in the use of hand tools, power tools and workshop machinery
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Commitment to quality workmanship and workplace safety
